Dave Fear Sr.

David is a partner and consultant in the firm of Shepler & Fear, a division of Dickerson Insurance Services, an Alera Group Company. Working in the employee benefits industry since 1979, David’s focus has been in alternative funding, flexible benefit plans and group purchasing arrangements. He is a longtime member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), having served in various volunteer capacities at the national, state, and local levels with an emphasis on legislative affairs. It was his honor to serve as the President of the California chapter of NAHU in 1998/1999 and as the President of NAHU in 2006/2007. He currently is on the board of directors of the NAHU Education Foundation, a 501-c-3 non-profit which educates the public on health care issues. In June 2015, David was the recipient of the industry’s highest honor, the Harold R. Gordon Memorial Award as Health Insurance Person of the Year. He is an approved Continuing Education instructor in California and other states and is a former member of the advisory board of the UC Davis School of Healthcare Management. David attended the Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and the California State University in Fresno, California. He is a Registered Health Underwriter (RHU).
