Returning to the Workforce: What You Can Expect

Returning to work is a lot more complicated than “reopening” and following a checklist. Every business and workforce has been affected by COVID-19, but each circumstance is unique. Determining AND executing the right short and long-term strategy for your business demands a clear understanding of ever-changing local government mandates, guidance from national and local health experts, customer expectations, your business and workforce capabilities, effective employment practices, and very real risk and legal considerations.​

 

Join us for this special edition of Returning to Work: What You Can Expect with Guests Bobbi Kloss, Director of Human Capital Management Services of BAN and Thomas Showalter CCP, SHRM-SCP, HR Services Director of AleraHR. Last week, Bobbi and Thomas hosted Restarting and Rethinking Your Workforce,  sharing their expertise in the risk and legal compliance obligations of employers when returning to work. In this session, Jeff will ask Bobbi and Thomas more about their thoughts and expectations of what the new “normal” would be upon returning to work.

About the Speaker

  • Bobbi Kloss

    Director of Human Capital Management

    Bobbi Kloss has served as Director of Human Capital Management Department for Benefit Advisors Network since February of 2014. She also oversees all HR-related functions for BAN internal practices. She has a deep understanding of the increasingly complex and diverse HR industry, with more than 20 years of Human Resource Generalist and executive-level Human Capital Management experience. Bobbi began her career as an Employment Law Compliance Paralegal for a National Professional Employer Organization after graduating with high honors from the Career Institute for Paralegals. Today, Bobbi provides her expertise to BAN’s employee benefit brokerage members as well as their employer clients, initiating proactive, strategic compliance practices which help limit their exposure to potential liabilities.

    HR Services Director

    Thomas’s passion is helping businesses to hire, retain, and engage high-performing workforces. After a rewarding career leading HR for several large companies, that passion led Thomas to found Alera ConnectHR, where he and his team of HR professionals bring their passion and expertise to Alera’s clients across the U.S. In addition to managing Alera ConnectHR, Thomas provides clients employment strategy, engagement, compensation, and performance management services. Thomas holds Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and SHRM-SCP designations, and a BA in Economics from the University of Oregon.
